Dr Haiwei (Jeffrey) Chang is a research fellow at the University of Queensland working on the development of bainitic steels. His research expertise lies in new steel development for wear resistance and additive manufacturing, surface modification of light alloys (Al, Mg, Ti) through cold spray coating and packed powder diffusion, surface nanocrystallization of light alloys, grain refinement of light alloys and steel. Haiwei obtained his bachelor’s and master’s degree in Materials Science and Engineering from the Dalian University of Technology, in China. In 2016, he received his PhD in Materials Engineering from the University of Queensland after which he worked as a research fellow in the University of Queensland.
