Mohammad Sharear Kabir has recently joined the mineAlloy team at Deakin University as Postdoctoral Research Fellow in Mechanics of Wear.
Kabir obtained his bachelor’s degree in Materials and Metallurgical Engineering from Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET). After his graduation, he worked as a Research Assistant in projects involving aluminium alloys for automotive sector and lead-free solder alloys for high temperature applications, in collaboration with Bangladesh Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (BCSIR, Bangladesh).
Kabir conducted his PhD at The University of New South Wales (UNSW, Sydney). His research focused on investigating the structure-property relationships in hard wear-resistant coatings. During his PhD, he gained experience in advanced material characterization techniques (FIB, TEM, SEM, AFM, XRD and XPS). Subsequently, Kabir worked as a post-doc at UNSW, investigating the structure-property relationships, scratch adhesion and tribological behaviour of multilayer diamond like carbon (DLC) coatings.
