Dr Yahia Ali received his PhD in Materials Engineering in 2017, at the University of Queensland. His research work was focused on grain refinement of cast alloys, and was conducted under the supervision of Prof Mingxing Zhang. During his studies, Yahia gained extensive experience in metal casting, solidification and grain refinement. In December 2017, Yahia started his new role as a postdoctoral research fellow in the Wear-Resistant Materials group within the School of Mechanical and Mining Engineering at University of Queensland. His work focuses on materials for ore chute liners as well as innovative wear testing methods.
