Desire Emefa Awuye is a new visiting research student at mineAlloy. This research is part of her PhD in Minerals Engineering at the University of Mines and Technology, Ghana. For the upcoming 6 months, her research focuses on grinding media wear simulations and heat treatment of grinding media to improve the wear resistance. In detail, she is investigating the wear patterns, interactions between materials, surface dynamics and abrasive forces in a grinding media application. Her objective is to use advanced computational tools to model the wear mechanisms, predict wear rates and assess the effect of various operational parameters on the processing conditions, particle interactions and grinding media wear. This research is targeted to enhancing the operational efficiency, reducing costs and waste due a reduction of wear.
